OIL & FUEL FILTRATION Winchester Global Pty Ltd manufactures ProtxL (protects-all) by-pass oil and fuel filters with US Patent and others pending. Our business is to optimise client machine availability, performance, and service life of all lubricated assets to allow generation of higher returns. ProtxL oil filters achieve cleanliness standards better than absolute 3 micron and 0% of moisture in emulsion to break the engine oil acid cycle and maintain the oil additive package including TBN. Organisations are seeking increased up-time on key equipment as well as reducing their carbon footprint. This is achieved by extending service intervals to 1,000 hrs and more. ProtxL oil and fuel filtration maintenance systems are ideal for any fixed or mobile plant to enhance OEM filtration on all diesel engines, hydraulic systems, gear boxes, final drives, bulk oil and fuel. In the case of turbines ProtxL is ideal to economically maintain up to the largest capacity systems to significantly reduce varnish and filter element spark.
Large industrial consumers of lubricants find it increasingly difficult to secure their volume requirements (because of volume turnover of lubricant). As the current service levels and life of lubricant is low, the only real solution is to achieve optimum extended service intervals by utilizing a ProtxL filter program with a high performance lubricant. The most cost effective preventative maintenance program is to insure that long machine and lubricant life is achieved by keeping the lubricant “clean and dry” to ProtxL cleanliness standards.
With our expertise and commitment, and working with your management and lube team we will achieve these benefits for you and the environment. ProtxL (protects-all) is a total system cleanliness program of oil & fuel filtration used with high performance lubricant for your entire machine inventory to maintain the design function of the injection system and piston rings. This will optimise engine performance, availability, significantly extended engine life, and optimum fuel economy and emissions. This oil management program is designed for your entire machine inventory and does not void new engine warranty and costs about 50% less than the standard oil and filter change. It is particulate, carbon, water and acid contamination that accelerates oil oxidation and engine wear. ProtxL fuel filtration removes 100% of heavy and emulsified moisture to break the oil acid cycle ensuring the oil additive package including Total Base Number (TBN) is conserved. The technical issue is: "The presence of wear metals alone can cause oxidation rates to increase to five (5) times the normal rate, while the presence of water can increase the oxidation rate ten (10) times. Combined, water and metal catalysts can increase the oxidation rate fifty (50) times or more," Ref USA National Tribology From this (x10) we clearly see it is moisture contamination that is the overlooked critical issue as standard spin-on and centrifugal oil and fuel filters are not designed to filter to 0% of moisture in emulsion. This is the primary reason why engine oil commonly is changed at only 250- 500 hours with resulting accelerated costly engine wear rates and down time. It is oil cleanliness standard that mostly determines wear, maintenance and repair cost so the most cost effective preventative maintenance is to maintain the highest oil and fuel cleanliness standard of absolute 3 micron and 0% emulsified moisture in oil and fuel. With the ProtxL preventative maintenance program it is cost effective to use a PAO oil and therefore we recommend ConocoPhillips oil be used to achieve optimum extended oil and filter element change of +1,000 hours. The ConocoPhillips lubricant range gives you synthetic like performance without the cost of man made full synthetic lubricants. The result is that oil cleanliness standard is constantly maintained at ISO16/14/12 (Nas5) Standard to remove oil varnish. An extensive inventory of marine diesel engines have operated for 13 years on 5,500 hours extended service with waste oil reduced (x ratio) from twenty drums to just one drum per year for significant logistics and environmental benefits. These Benefits are readily available and will cost 50% less than the standard oil and filter change. For local clients we offer a 30 day try and buy evaluation with a 100% full satisfaction money back guarantee. When the ProtxL total system cleanliness program is installed we strongly recommend that initial 250 hour progressive oil analysis is done so there is no risk in finding the optimum extended service for that particular engine in its working environment. Once this is done the decision can safely be made on a service interval that suits the engine inventory. This same approach should be used for hydraulic systems, gear boxes. The result of operating the full ProtxL program is that oil cleanliness standard is constantly maintained at ISO16/14/12 (Nas5) Standard to remove oil varnish. The full design function of the injection system and piston rings are maintained resulting in maintenance of optimum engine power, availability, significantly extended engine life, optimum fuel economy and emissions. Also waste oil can be reduced from twenty drums per year to just one drum as clients have done for 13 years. These Benefits are readily achieved and will cost about 50% less than the current standard oil and filter change. For local clients we offer a 30 day try and buy evaluation with a 100% full satisfaction money back guarantee. |

Clean, dry oil can extend equipment life between failures up to 8 - 10 times the normal operating life. Timken, the bearing manufacturer, reports that reducing water levels from 100 ppm (parts per million) to 25 ppm increases bearing life 2 times. British hydraulics research indicate that if solids contamination with particles larger than 5 micron (0.005 mm or 0.0002”) is reduced from of 5,000 – 10,000 particles per milliliter of oil to 160 – 320 particles, machine life increased 5 times. Moisture must never be allowed into a bearing. Keep it clean and dry! The table shows how bearing life is affected horribly by water. Oil with water in it is cloudy and by the time you notice the cloudiness the damage is already done!
