Engine Oil filtration systems for extended engine oil change for increased machine availability, reduced operating costs, extended engine life.
High performance ProtxL oil filters and fuel filters incorporate state-of-the-art design technology, including a unique patent pending SLUDGE Absorption system for unsurpassed extension of oil performance. The result is a cost effective solution, clearly superior to traditional filter design.
KEY BENEFITS OF EXTENDED OIL CHANGE
Reducing engine oil and filter operating costs up to 50% and increasing engine life
ProtxL Engine Oil Maintenance Systems have the unique ability to
remove emulsified water in fuel and sludge in engine oil.
ProtxL engine oil filtration maintenance systems also remove engine oil contaminants down to 1-3 micron levels (on multiple pass), thereby significantly reducing the levels of metal fragments and soot normally found in engine oil.
These engine oil contaminants are responsible for engine "wear and tear" and their removal substantially
improves machine availability and increased engine life.
Why do we change engine oil?
The statements contained in Mobile Technical Bulletin 863 explains that engine oil does not require changing because it becomes worn out. Engine Oil is changed because ordinary "full flow" oil filters are not designed to do anything but protect the engine from particles larger than 30 micron, they have no effect on additives or smaller particles and can
not remove sludge.
Abrasive wear of the engine increases at this stage. Carbon particles increase in size and after 3 microns, become increasingly aggressive on internal components. The 3-30 range of carbon particles wear out the capital investment.
Extending Engine Oil Service Intervals
All Industry want to extend the engine oil service interval and increase machine availability, but unless the TBN (Total Base Number) and soot levels are maintained at acceptable values, engine oil change intervals can not be extended.
The ProtxL Engine Oil Maintenance System has been developed to protect valuable engines from the ravages of SLUDGE, dust, fuel, sulphur and wear metal
contamination - by filtering to sub-micron levels (on multiple passes), and removing sludge. This reduces the formation of sulphuric acid and contributes towards the oil maintaining its TBN (Total Base Number).
The ProtxL Engine Oil Maintenance System will not void machine warranty.
ProtxL Engine Oil Maintenance Systems are designed to service all engines from the smallest to the largest with engine oil capacities in excess of 18,000 litres each.
ProtxL is fitted to both fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
In the initial 250 hour evaluation period, the operator should be vigilant by using oil analysis to determine optimum engine oil change interval in your the equipments' particular working environment. Singapore Conference Paper. An engine oil analysis should be done progressively at each 250 hour period when the element is changed so as to safely allow extension of the oil drain interval.

The benefits of the ProtxL oil maintenance systems include: ·
Increased engine oil life because the additive package is not being used up because of the continual removal of contamination 3-5 micron particles and soot while in operation.
The engine oil maintains acceptable particle contamination levels. · The removal of sludge in the engine oil and fuel, slows the formation of acid to acceptable level. Machine oil TBN values are maintained at acceptable levels for longer.
Increasing the engine oil life life and maintaining the quality of the engine oil during operation, thereby increasing the engine oil drain periods. · Increasing the life of the OEM elements. · Reducing the wear in the engine because it is running in clean engine oil all the times.
An associated company, Fuel & Oil Recovery Services Pty Ltd utilizes the ProtxL range of fuel and oil maintenance systems. Fuel & Oil Recovery Services Pty Ltd is able to provide a service to clean fuels, oils (including transformer oil and engine oil), tanks and reservoirs, using mobile cleaning systems. If your company has a fluid to clean, contact can be made through extendedoilchange@extendedoilchange.org
